Ice Aging Janesville

Adding a few more miles to my Ice Age Trail Travelogue, today I joined the trail in Janesville.

The neat thing about the Ice Age Trail in Janesville is that it intersects with Janesville's extensive network of recreational trails.

The neat thing about the Ice Age Trail in Janesville is that it intersects with Janesville’s extensive network of recreational trails. So I was able to bike 20 miles and walk one mile. It’s not exactly at the halfway mark of the trail.

Appointment at Gibralter Rock

I had a tentative breakfast appointment this morning with Mr. Sun at Gibralter Rock State Natural Area. Later I discovered Mr. Sun was waiting for me back home. Sigh. Nonetheless, the views were spectacular, as always, and the fresh air was invigorating.

Gibralter Rock is part of the Ice Age Trail, just north of Lodi in Columbia County.

Lakes & Plains

Summer is a great time for a road trip, and a summer wedding is an even better reason. This has been kind of a regular thing most of the past few years.

We began by heading north and made a stop to look at the distant highlands across Wisconsin’s Black River State Natural Areas.
