DRIVE OR WASH

On my way from Seattle to Redwood National Park (previous post), I had to drive through Oregon and Washington. On the way back, I made a few stops.

Crater Lake National Park

Crater Lake National Park was my first stop, an impressive relic of an ancient volcano.

Multnomah Falls

Before leaving Oregon I had to visit Multnomah Falls, another of the most beautiful features of the Northwest.

Columbia River

The hike to the top of the falls was not especially rewarding but the Columbia River is impressive.

Arriving at Mt. Rainier National Park, crossing the bridge on the trail to Carter Falls. A less impressive waterfall but good exercise.

It was overcast until I arrived at the Henry M. Jackson Visitor's Center

Another look at Myrtle Falls. A few minutes later fog re-engulfed the peak.
