Ice Aging Janesville

Adding a few more miles to my Ice Age Trail Travelogue, today I joined the trail in Janesville.

The neat thing about the Ice Age Trail in Janesville is that it intersects with Janesville's extensive network of recreational trails.

The neat thing about the Ice Age Trail in Janesville is that it intersects with Janesville’s extensive network of recreational trails. So I was able to bike 20 miles and walk one mile. It’s not exactly at the halfway mark of the trail.

But this bridge across the Rock River marks the southern-most section of the trail. Either direction from here goes north.

On the north end of downtown is the power dam.


The Ice Age Trail joins the Kiwanis Trail north of downtown and passes Traxler Park where the Rock Aqua Jays water ski teams performs and practices.

Then the trail passes through Riverside Park, which has lots of amenities including a Disc Golf course and a nifty looking Shuffleboard court.

Then came the hiking trail, with lots of up-and-down rock staircases.
