A warm sunny day in January is a great day for a walk. So with two colleagues from the office, Sharon and Mimi, we explored the trails of the arboretum. We started out on the Grady tract, the southern most part of the arboretum.

Occasionally we would notice some interesting colors or unusual life forms (like fungi).

Trees and snow, and occasionally piles of wood.

Then we walked through the tunnel under the beltline, through some conifers, and out onto the Curtis Prairie…

…through the tall prairie grass…

…and other prairie vegetation.

And almost to the visitors center. But we’ll be back another day.
